Let me first introduce myself, so you understand where I came from and who I am.
My name is Candice Gunstream, I was born and raised in the United States of America, in Palm Springs, California. I am more fortunate than most, but I have gone through some of the hardest obstacles and trials and tribulations that I honestly do not believe people should ever have to experience or live through. But then those experiences made me the person I am today; without them, I might not be as strong as I am now. I was a little too nice in high school and my early 20s; I took a lot of abuse, and people seemed to always use my kindness as a weakness.
My Childhood set me up for who I am…
Like I was saying I grew up in Palm Springs, California raised with extraordinarily strong core morals and values before my parents divorced between the time of was born and 8 years old. I was born in my home in La Quinta, California, on my parents’ waterbed. Never have I met anyone that can say that like I can, Ha-ha. They raised me in a Christian family; Mom stayed home and raised my two brothers, my sister, and myself, doing all the mom things. While my father was an extremely hard worker and went to work every day to support and feed his family. That is the good old-fashioned way of life. Life is not like that anymore you need two incomes to support a family of 6, it should not be like that.
But in the first 8 years of my life what my parents taught me was really all I needed to become the person I am today which I ruely believe is very close to my perfect self. Still working on a couple inner items but very close. Had my parents not shown my brothers and sister and myself that the husband works which my father owned his own business. SO I was brught up to work for yourself and become an Entrapuenor. I have always had an imagionation like you wouldn’t believe. I remember at times being told if I keep telling stories no one will believe me. And If I cry wolf I wont get help when I really need it. I can remember that and I believe I listened to my parents that day so I used my ability to change my present circumstances many times. I could keep saring my childhood experiences that brought me to who I am today, but thats not what this is about its about Sharing Opportunity. Working from home is the best way to work.
Sharing Opportunity through my Newsletter
Sharing Opportunity is the name of my Newsletter that is being created as we speak, and my community group on Facebook, and last one of my channels on Youtube. Which I will come back to this later.
Fast Forward through my childhood, my father showed me how hard you have to work to build a business and as long as you work hard build a foundation for your business you can enjoy your family, and children and always be involved. Remember I was a child with a very creative imagination so yes I made believed alot and as I share with many I thought my family was wealthy, we had everything we needed. Love being #1 and food on table house and eachother. Later I would find out we were very broke, at times had zero dollars another reason my parents didn’t survive the evilness of financially not being set.
SO, I will show you how you can stay home and still raise your children with value and morals like they did it in the good old days as we say.
Change… Working from Home
When I was 8 years old, my mother and father got a divorce, my mother took us 4 children and herself to Palm Desert. And my Dad stayed in LQ until he sold the house. We moved in with another family that was the total opposite of our family but identical. I know you are probably saying not possible well it was.
We both had a mother that just divorced their husbands, Steve, moved to a town that both moms had to work for the first time since they started raising their families, both became bartenders and working two jobs in restaurants. Both the McCown’s and Mannebach had four kids Dustin and Eric bother were 13-14 years old, respectively. Next there were Matthew and Dan, they were both 9 almost 10 years old. Next, was Candice (myself), and Lisa. I was 8, and Lisa was the same age as Dan, they were twins, but we were on the same level. And last were our little sisters, Carin and Kelly; they were 5 years old. So it was perfect. We all stayed home, raised ourselves, most of the time.
Making the lives of others better…
Fast forward, my personality has always been to put people’s needs first, I have been a kind-hearted person; I am a giver. Which put me in debt back in my late 20 and early 30s. When I met my son’s father at age 14. Had I not been with him I would not have my two sons which are my life. WHo I live for. Remind me of this song, “Thank God for Unanswered Prayers”, you probably know that song one of my all-time favorites.
We were together for 18 years and had many great times. We were just two different people, and our understanding of “Love” it was different. How I was raised was to treat your loved ones the best, die for them, and be there for them. Never turn your back, never hurt them emotionally, physically, or mentally. His parents raised him honestly, but something happened to him between the ages of 12-16 that changed him, as his mother always said. And he chose to treat the people who he said he loved the most his mother and me, and later his children like they were the last people on earth to pay attention to and never provide for them; they will survive if you give to people who mean nothing and are all about fame, and personal indulgence.
The Move in The Middle of the Evening
I finally got smart and got out of that toxic relationship. In the middle of the night, my oldest brother and mother, in a U-Haul came to pack us up. I had no clue, they were coming for my two sons and myself.
At that stage in my relationship, I had two choices to go with them and live. Or to stay where I was and possibly die. I had already survived death twice that week. My ex-best friend, whom I only recently allowed back into my life, Hanna called my mother. Told her that if she didn’t come get us today, she might not be alive tomorrow. So that is exactly what they did. We got out before I was killed or something terrible happened. That hopefully gave you a vision of what I had been going through.
Beginning of my 30s
My sons and I just moved to Los Angeles, California and moved with my mother and Brother Dustin. We started out in a big studio in Glendora. Within 6months we moved to “The Park View Apartments”. Where I met my Fiance Brent Gunstream. He made magic happen at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland. One day when my boys and I were throwing a football. He saw the opportunity to use his profession to his advantage. He came, introduced himself and offered us to go to Disneyland anytime. From that day forward we have been together.
To sum things up, the story that brought me here, is for another time and page. I want to show you the opportunity that allowed me to create financial freedom in my life.
